The Witness Ministries
Be renewed in the spirit of your mind
About the Witness Ministries
- On November 22, 1988, the vision of The Witness Ministries was given, in
seed form, to Pius Ohue and Daniel Okeme. By the end of the first quarter of
1989, the Lord had amply elaborated on the initial light given to them. Ever
since, we have witnessed a gradual unfolding of God’s magnificent picture.
It is our pleasure to highlight some aspects of this picture, as we present to you the purpose, vision, wisdom and timing of God for The Witness Ministries:
The Purpose
To be an example or pattern of God’s ways. In this way, the Lord intends to bring men (believers and unbelievers) to the point of being committed to Him.
The Vision
The vision of the Witness Ministries can be broken into three:
(1) As a people, we are called to be witnesses to God’s holiness, faithfulness, blessedness and majesty. This we accomplish by, first, “living the life” and, then, testifying before men.
(2) As God’s servants, we are called to reach out within the Body of Christ, informing, building and restoring, raising up men after God’s heart.
(3) Finally, we are called to reach out to the lost, turning men from darkness to light.
Current Assignments
At the moment, the following forums have been provided by the Lord for us to fulfil the vision. Some are ongoing, while others are about to commence:
(1) Fellowship meetings in Kpeyegyi and Asokoro, Abuja.
(2) Outreaches and programmes in Nigeria and other parts of the world.
(3) Media and publications outreach.
(4) The Witness Trust (involving projects and Funds under our management for the benefit of others).
(5) Outreaches to villages.
(6) A resort base (a place of fellowship and training)
(7) A care school (to provide educational opportunities for the underprivileged).
(8) A care clinic (to nurse those who need care and attention).
(9) A home planted by the Lord (to provide shelter for the homeless).
The Wisdom
The wisdom of our operations can be broken into four:
(1) A lifestyle of faith in God and absolute dependence on Him for all things, including material sustenance. As a result of this, we neither collect offerings in our meetings, nor do we solicit for funds. Yet God uses men to meet our needs.
(2) A lifestyle of following the leading of the Spirit. This includes family matters, journeys, preaching engagements, and so on.
(3) The corporate nature of our walk and work. The vision was committed to two men, who have, over the years, combined the prophetic and teaching ministries to fulfill an apostolic calling. Yet the Lord has spoken of a multiplied ministry, a vision He has started to fulfill.
(4) The place of readiness and availability to fulfill, at all times, the demands of the Lord. This is an attitude that guarantees that our schedules and we also, are open to the demands of the Spirit.
The Timing
Pius and Daniel received the vision in Kano, Nigeria. They resided in Kano for six years, until 1994, when they both married and moved to Ibadan, as led of the Lord.
Pius is married to Nnenna, and they are blessed with three children.
Daniel, is married to Tofe, and they have four children.
